    Contract for Securing Funded Postdoctoral Research Position and Guiding Services

    This contract is written between Ali Zahedi Amiri, with Canadian permanent residency number 9505-3099, resident of 207-22 John Street, Toronto, M9N0B1, ON, Canada, hereon referred to as the “Counsellor”, and Leila Torkzadeh, Iranian national, hereon referred to as the “Applicant.” The terms and principles of this contract are described below, and both parties agree to abide by them. This contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be resolved through mediation/arbitration/litigation in Ontario, Canada.

    Article One: Subject of the Contract
    The purpose of this contract is to assist the applicant in securing a funded postdoctoral research position at a recognized Canadian institution in fields that align with her academic and professional background. This includes but is not limited to health policy, health systems and services research, health management, medical tourism, quality improvement in healthcare, cancer systems research, and health economics. The services provided under this contract include: counselling, CV and research statement revisions, review of credentials, identifying supervisors or research groups with funding, initiating contact with suitable mentors, preparing and arranging interview opportunities, supporting research proposal preparation (if needed), coaching for interviews, guidance for finalizing postdoc agreements, and continuous strategic support throughout the process.

    Article Two: Duration of the Contract
    The contract is valid for a period of one year from the date of signing. During this time, the Counsellor is responsible for arranging at least one formal interview between the Applicant and a potential Canadian supervisor/principal investigator. If an offer for a funded postdoctoral position is secured during this period, the contract is considered fulfilled. If not, the Applicant may either:

    • Request a full refund of the initial payment,

    or

    • Extend the contract without additional charge for a mutually agreed period, during which the Counsellor will continue supporting the Applicant toward securing a suitable position.

    Article Three: Fees
    Counselling is free of charge. Total fee for securing a funded postdoctoral offer: $3500 CAD.

    If no offer is secured within 12 months:

    • The Applicant is entitled to a full refund of prior payment within 45 days, OR

    • May continue the contract at no extra charge until a postdoc offer is secured (as mutually agreed).

    Article Four: Conditions of Fee Payments
    Instalment 1: Upon signing this contract, the Applicant pays $1750 CAD (50%=half)

    Instalment 2: Upon receiving a formal funded postdoc offer, the Applicant pays $1750 CAD (50%=half).

    Refund Scenarios:

    If no funded offer is secured after one year: Applicant is refunded the first instalment or may choose to continue services free of charge.

    Note: Any university or institutional application fees (unlikely, but if needed) are not included in this agreement and are paid directly by the Applicant to the institution.

    Article Five: Counsellor’s Obligations
    • Reviewing and optimizing the Applicant’s documents (CV, SOP, emails, proposal if needed).

    • Providing up-to-date information on available postdoc positions, funding schemes, institutional eligibility, and supervisor research focus.

    • Reaching out to supervisors who recently received grants and may not have public postings yet.

    • Preparing and coaching the Applicant for interviews and negotiation with principal investigators.

    • Supporting proposal or formal application preparation.

    • Delivering necessary application account credentials to the Applicant once results are released and payments are completed.

    Article Six: Applicant’s Obligations
    • Timely submission/sharing of all academic and supporting documents.

    • Fulfilling payment obligations according to Article 4.

    • Informing the Counsellor in writing of any withdrawal or termination requests.

    • Taking responsibility for the accuracy and legitimacy of submitted/shared documents.

    Article Seven: End of Contract
    The contract will end when the Applicant either:

    • Receives and accepts a funded postdoc position,

    or

    • Chooses to terminate the unsuccessful contract after one year, either by requesting a refund or continuing the process under mutual agreement for a specific period.

    Article Eight: Cancellation of Contract
    • If the Applicant submits fraudulent or falsified documents, the Counsellor reserves the right to cancel the contract and retain all payments.

    • If the Applicant cancels within 7 days of signing: 90% refund of first instalment applies.

    • If the Applicant cancels after day 7 but before day 30: 50% refund of first instalment applies.

    • If the Applicant cancels after day 30: no refund.

    ---Additional Note---
    The Counsellor may engage up to two collaborators with expertise in medical statistics, health data systems, and health policy to support communication with Canadian supervisors. Their involvement may enhance the chances of securing a postdoc by contributing to technical discussions, preparing materials, or using their own academic networks.
